R.A.P.I.D
Video Installation, 5:28, 2022
R.A.P.I.D is a hybrid installation consisting of a hanging printed sculpture, a spatial environment, and a video that traces an incomplete narrative unfolding between the Internet and lived reality. The work assembles the artist’s own photographs and recordings together with time-expired and decommissioned footage, memes, news fragments, and other found images that have drifted from their initial purposes. Detached from their original contexts and hierarchies, these visual fragments circulate as unstable yet generative constellations, echoing the ways temporary communities, migratory memories, and more-than-human networks emerge and dissolve within entangled digital and material ecologies. Through this continual rearrangement of what has already been used, discarded, or forgotten, R.A.P.I.D explores how human and non-human agencies, infrastructures and affects, physical places and online traces interlace to produce shifting grounds of meaning and fluid modes of existence.
