On the Plane

This 60-minute radio experiment features 14 musical compositions by Minkyoung Byun organically interwoven with Cho Ari’s text, <on the plane>. It explores how memories and recollections are formed amid lingering sensations and shifting temporality, ultimately evoking an indeterminate state of nostalgia.

Fictional essay, <on the plane>, depicts the psychological disintegration of a protagonist during the physical journey of a flight to Argentina. In this work, past memories and present delusions intertwine, tracing a process of mental fragmentation of the self. The text focuses on memory shards that circulate without a clear origin, as well as the uncanny, fluid nature produced by dissonant temporalities and multilayered perceptions.
